Placed outside and above the sump, the IceCap External Algae Scrubber allows water to flow through and drain back into the system. Fed by the included IceCap EVO water pump, water trickles over an illuminated screen, fostering algae growth that naturally removes excess nutrients. Regular harvesting of the algae prevents overgrowth and ensures continual filtration.

Harvesting Algae from the IceCap PRO External Turf Scrubber:

To harvest algae, remove the top and loosen the quick-release union. Lift out the pipe and algae screen, clean underwater, and scrape off buildup with a credit card. Leave some algae to facilitate faster regrowth, typically every 1-3 weeks.
